CITs 2014 – JACK SHERMAN

Jack Sherman lives in Great Neck, NY and will be returning to Canadensis for his 7th summer! When Jack is at home he runs  track, participating in DECA, and scuba diving. Jack’s dream job is to one day run his own architecture firm. At camp Jack enjoys basketball and running the big race during Color War! One of his favorite camp memories is getting to start the big race last summer. Another favorite memory was the time he got to accept his 5 year jacket in front of the entire camp at line up!  Jack’s advice to a first time camper is that “if you are missing your family at home just remember that you are with your second family at camp! No matter what you and your friends fight about make sure that you do your best to fix it because you never want to be in a fight with family”. You might not know this but Jack’s secret talent is juggling; he also used to have incredibly long hair! Jack won’t leave for camp without his pillow, and he won’t leave at the end of the summer without having had the greatest summer!

Alexa, Jack, Carly, Matthew, Brooke, Bradley, and Cassidy loving CIT Weekend!

CITs 2014 – LAUREN LAMAGNA

Lauren LaMagna lives in Merrick, NY and is returning to Canadensis for her 7th summer! Lauren enjoys hanging out with her friends and working in the drama program at her high school. She also loves softball and long walks on the beach. Lauren loves so many activities at camp – the ropes course, free swim, and bunko rank among her favorites. Lauren’s dream job it to be an actress! Going to camp has taught Lauren that it’s okay to be yourself – no, not okay – it’s GREAT to be yourself! Her advice to a first time camper is “Buckle up! You’re about to have the best 7 weeks of your life! And ask your parents for a LOT of junk food on Visiting Day!” Lauren won’t leave for camp without her iPod, can’t wait to do the CIT cheer at our first lunch, and won’t leave Orlando without meeting Ariel at Disney World – she’s Lauren’s favorite Princess!

CITs 2014 – LINDSEY REITER

linds

Lindsey Reiter lives in Woodmere, NY and is getting excited for her 7th summer at Canadensis! When she’s at home, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her friends, participating in BBYO, DECA, and SADD – someday she will use her leadership skills to be the CEO of a major company! Lindsay loves mountain biking at camp, is the bunk masseuse, and she’s also known to sometimes lose her voice from her abundant camp cheering… one of her favorite memories was when CIT 2013 Melissa Goldstein had Lindsey save her voice for an entire da so that she would still have her voice for prom invitation announcements. Going to Canadensis has taught Lindsey that camp friends truly are your family and will always be there for you. She also learned to never be too afraid to try something new and crazy. Lindsey’s advice for a first time camper is to never let little things bother you – your bunk is a family and you want to enjoy all the time you have together.  Lindsey is excited to go on every ride at Disney World and meet all of her favorite characters. You’ll see her up at Canadensis in a few short weeks, sporting her summer shades and Canadensis apparel!

CITS 2014: NOAH SAFFER

Noah is loving Volleyball!

Noah is loving Volleyball!

Noah “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar” Saffer lives in Short Hills, NJ, and will be returning to Canadensis for his 7th summer! When Noah is at home he enjoys watching basketball, going to debates (forensics), hanging with his friends, and creating software; he has even recreated games from the 80’s in his spare time! His dream job is to be the head of a start-up in Silicon Valley or to become a top level software designer at Google. Noah has many hidden talents – he can build a computer using only one arm while listing at leave five players on each NBA team; something tells me that Noah would be the Canadensis “Fast Cookie” champion. Noah has a lot of favorite activities at camp and his favorite is probably the summit. He has also learned that Gaga at Canadensis can get intense! One of his favorite camp memories is of the water wars of Lower Senior/Upper Senior summer. Noah wants all of our first time campers to know that they don’t need to be nervous about coming to camp for the first time because their new camp friends will always be there for them! Noah never leaves for a summer at Canadensis without his 3DS (it gets him through bunko!) and will not leave this summer without whooping them at Mario Kart one last time!

CITs 2014 – HEATHER SCHULTZ

Heather Schultz lives in Holland, Pa and will be returning to Canadensis for her 8th summer! When she’s at home she enjoys singing, acting, and spending time with her friends – she’s also a really great cook! Heather’s dream job is to be an elementary school teacher, so she’ll absolutely love spending time as a CIT to her own bunk of campers! Her favorite camp activity is the Fitness Center. One of Heather’s favorite camp memories was coming back to her cabin last year and finding that they had taken all of the honor bunk plaques in Girls Camp – her bunk loves a friendly prank! She never leaves for camp without her iPod, you never know when you’re going to need a random song, and she’s also obsessed with musicals! Being a camper at Canadensis has taught Heather how to be a good friend,  and also how to be more adventurous! She would like all of our first time campers to try everything – “never be afraid to go outside your comfort zone”. Heather is planning to get on the Summit at least once this summer, and when she hops on the bus in August she’ll have tried anything and everything new that crossed her path this summer!

Alex and Heather love Canadensis!

CITs 2014 – ALEXA HERSKOWITZ

Cassidy and Alexa will be camp friends forever!

Cassidy and Alexa will be camp friends forever!

Alexa Herskowitz will be back in the 18325 for her 8th summer at Camp Canadensis! Although she’s a Cherry Hill native, she actually attends high school in a different state than her own! When she’s at home, Alexa enjoys playing soccer, running track, hanging out with her friends, and watching every TV series on Netflix. Her favorite activity at Canadensis is cooking and her dream job is to one day be the host of Good Morning America – perhaps she can get her start on an episode of Canadensis Today! Alexa never leaves for camp without her DS because you never know when an intense game of Mario Kart is going to break out; her secret camp talent is hiding that DS, along with all her other belongings, under her bed before inspection. One of Alexa’s favorite camp memories is always the annual overnight – it’s by far the craziest and most fun night with her friends every summer. Being a camper at Canadensis has taught Alexa that camp friends are you best friends, and they will be there for you no matter what. She wants all of our first time campers to know that, although you’re going to hear it 100000 times over the summer, always make the most of every situation and take advantage of all the fun opportunities that come your way, because the summer always flies by. Although she plans on never leaving Canadensis, one thing on Alexa’s to-do list before the summer ends is to get hypnotized by Brad Henderson.

CITs 2014 – MATTY WIENER

Matty and his bunk during their legendary MTV night performance.

Matty Wiener lives in Syosset, New York, and will be returning to Canadensis for his 8th summer at camp! When he’s at home, Matty enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing sports, and winning camp fantasy football leagues… sorry Austin! His skills will come in handy someday when he lands his dream job as a sports agent, although he’d be equally happy with a job like Aunt Terri’s, complete with a pink golf cart! When he’s at camp, Matty loves to spend time playing NBA and coaching/catching Junior CBL. He also likes to spend time at camp choreographing dances – specifically MTV night routines – and this year the boys are ready to prove to Canadensis that while they may be the largest group of CIT boys we’ve ever had, they will make the greatest MTV night dance this camp has ever seen – he just hopes we’re all ready for that! One of Matty’s favorite camp memories was at the end of last summer, when his bunk was cheered back on stage for an encore of their MTV night performance – although they didn’t win the Krugie, they got the satisfaction of being remembered as one of the most entertaining MTV Night dances. Another favorite memory was hearing his sister, Rachel Wiener, have her name announced as Color War Captain in 2012; Rachel is the oldest of his 3 sisters! Matty could never leave for camp without his monkey PJs and his monkey pillow – it’s his trademark and he wouldn’t be able to sleep a night without it. Being a camper at Canadensis has taught Matty that no friend will ever be as close as your camp friends; he wouldn’t be who he is today without them. He would like all of our new campers to enjoy every second of camp, because it goes by way to fast;  “just be yourself and don’t be embarrassed to do anything because we’re really just one big family”. Matty is so excited to be a CIT and make a lasting impression on his bunk, just as his former CITs did for him. In August, Matty doesn’t plan on ever leaving Canadensis, and will spend the rest of his days taking long strolls by the shore of Lake Lenape, as the sun disappears behind the trees…

CITs 2014 – CARLY DANIEL

Alexa and Carly can't wait to be CITs!!!

Alexa and Carly can’t wait to be CITs!!!

Carly Daniel is from Holland, Pennsylvania and will be returning for her 8th summer at Canadensis! When she’s at home, Carly enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, eating, and playing tennis. Carly isn’t certain what her ‘dream job’ may be, but she knows that it will involve helping others. Carly’s favorite camp memories include the Senior Canteen raves and the surprise visit from the Gozen Yogurt truck… her camp friends’ memories of Carly probably include her belting out a tune during shower hour – Carly is a magnificent shower singer!   Being a Canadensis camper has taught Carly how to make life long friendships, and that no matter what happens, she will always have her camp friends. Carly wants all of our new campers to remember to always be open minded and try new activities – and just be yourself; you will learn quickly that camp friends are your best friends. The last time she went to Disney World, Carly was in 5th grade, so she is excited to return this summer on her CIT trip. She never leaves for camp without her bear, and is hoping to add “Being Hypnotized by Brad Henderson” to her list of  camp memories she’ll take with her in August, after having the best summer of her life with her camp sisters!

CITs 2014 – DAVID EHRENTHAL

david e

David Ehrenthal is from Scotch Plains, NJ, and will be returning to Canadensis for his 8th summer! When he’s at camp, David’s favorite activities are cooking and ropes; when he’s at home, David enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with friends, after school clubs, and flying. His love of flight will serve him well, as his dream job is to travel the world as a journalist. One funny fact about David is that his initials are “D-I-E” – he doesn’t think his parents noticed that when choosing his name! One of his favorite camp memories is being afraid to go mountain biking in his junior summer at camp – Eric Forti got on a mountain bike with the bunk and rode with them… and after the ride he opened the canteen for ice cream sandwiches! Throughout his years at Canadensis, David has learned that the friendships you create over 7 weeks can never be taken away, and that your camp friends are always going to be there for you. He wants all of our new campers to know that they shouldn’t be nervous – camp friends will become your best friends for life! David will be coming to camp for his CIT summer with hundreds of episodes of Full House on his iPod, along with a goal to stand up on waterskiis. David buried a time capsule somewhere on camp in 2007, with the intention to dig it up CIT summer, and he won’t be leaving in August without it… time capsule location remains undisclosed…

CITs 2014 – BROOKE LIEBMAN

Brooke and Dani can't wait to be CITs!

Brooke and Dani can’t wait to be CITs!

Brooke Liebman lives in Holland, Pennsylvania and will be returning to Canadensis for her  8th summer! When she’s at home, Brooke enjoys playing tennis, hanging out with her friends, and eating food, which she also enjoys at her favorite camp activity – cooking! Her favorite camp memories include the annual 4th of July Fireworks, and this past summer when the Gozen Yogurt truck came to camp. Being a camper has taught Brooke how to get along with a large group of girls, no matter how different they may be, and she wants all of our new campers to know that arguing with your camp friends isn’t worth it – you’re only at camp for 2 months, so you have to make it the best!  Brooke’s dream job is to become a Camp Counselor, and she’ll never leave for a summer at camp without her Temperpedic egg. This summer, Brooke hopes to be hypnotized by Brad Henderson; she’s also looking forward to the CIT trip to Walt Disney World, since the last time she was in Disney she was only 2 years old! No matter what, Brooke will leave Canadensis in August having had a great summer experience.
